The GRS is a technical safety organization and research institution that has been working in the field of nuclear safety for almost 50 years. It can contribute its expertise in particular to the development of the regulatory framework, the performance of safety analyses and assessments, and generally to answering all safety-related questions. It develops its own simulation code AC2 in order to be able to carry out independent investigations and event analyses. Additionally, GRS supports regulatory bodies with the evaluation of operational experience and decommissioning and radiation protection aspects.
